Our story started in 2018 when our co-founder, Manisha, visited the Great Barrier Reef and was mesmerised by its beauty. When she returned 6 years later, she noticed considerable decline in the coral quality and upon research found the extent of destruction of the Great Barrier Reef.
Moved by what she saw, she shared this problem with our founder, Ashish, a biomaterial scientist, who was working on biomaterial production then.

During his work & research on biomaterial production, Ashish had experienced how inefficient and unsustainable some of the biomaterial production processes were. He was looking for potential solutions for this biomaterial production problem, when the discussion about the destruction of the reef sparked in him a bright idea: 'why not use these ecological predators of the reef for sourcing biomaterials sustainably and solve both the problems?'. That's how the idea of Leap Biotech was born.

Next several months were spent in joining hands with world's leading experts in biomaterials to develop a clean, green and sustainable technology to produce high quality biomaterials using these predators as sources. Finally, Leap Biotech was founded in 2025 with the goal of developing biomaterial products and conserving the reef.
Since then, we're working on developing high quality products and aim to bring them to market soon.
